Indianapolis Animal Care & Control

This snippet is from the September 30th Nuvo Magazine on the firing of Doug Rae:

"For the 18,000 dogs and cats that find their way to Indianapolis Animal Care and Control each year, the odds of surviving are slim.
On average, only 7,000 will leave alive; the other 11,000 will be killed by lethal injection, incinerated and then hauled off to be buried with the rest of the city's waste at the municipal dump nearby."
Ick. This makes me sick as does what goes on at that place. Please read full article. Thanks!!!

A View Atop Indy

My hubby is working on the new JW Marriott Hotel downtown and took some great shots from the, or what will be, the 15th floor. He will be taking the camera back so we can see veiws from each floor as they go up!

The home of our Indianapolis Indians.

The home of our Indianapolis Colts.....

And what amazes me is they can get that port-a-potty up there too!!!

Little gifts

The thing I love about being able to create from scratch is the happiness it gives to other people. Being able to bring dreams and ideas that were thought to be unobtainable to life.
We were honored to be asked to help with a wedding. Danielle from Madison Wisconsin asked us if we could help her with a ring barrier's pillow, a neck tie for her future husband, a flower girl bag and flower stem wrap for her own grown tulips.

This made my day!!!

Her message to us after receiving her items.........

Dear Kim and Phyllis,
OH MY GOSH, I LOVE YOUR CREATIONS SO MUCH!! They are so perfect in every way.
I need to leave feedback to let everyone know how AWESOME you guys are. I posted your shop/name on my page on the brides forum that I visit (offbeatbride.com), along with photos. THANKS A MILLION TRILLION TIMES. You've made me so happy and this is so, so special.

I love you gals!

Danielle (& Davis & Duncan)

This is what it is all about!!!!! Keep on creating..................

New Libby colors........

Our new Libby colors will be posted soon.

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Wow, two weeks......

As I sit here on this beautiful Saturday afternoon with the sun shinning, I wish I could hear the birds chirp. Instead, I am listening to my husband's loud hard rock music and pounding feet. The feet that are stomping to the beat of this, in my opinion, crappy music. What in the world??? How does he even understand what they are saying???
I would rather work to the happy go-lucky dance music that I grew up with. What more could a girl want when re-doing her kitchen?? A little "Lucky Star"???
But, we do what keeps our husbands scrapping the ugly wallpaper off the walls. Even if it is listening to this, I can't call it music, music.
Just wait until the end product. AND, why in the world do people still use wallpaper?????
So, now I think it is time for a cold one...Must go take control back!!!! The radio is mine!!!

Remember When....

Remember when... this time of year most of us were getting ready to go on Spring Break.
Oh, Spring Break how I miss thee. It is not as easy as jumping in the car with a group of friends, looking forward to hanging out on the beach for a week with cocktail in hand. No cares or worries except which bathing suit to wear. Oh, how I miss those days. For all those who want to go to the beach in the next month but can't get there.....here is my little nostalgic token!!
A jar of memories.......

Could this be love...or just an obsession??

I have found that with selling vintage items it is likely you may become attached.
I love this light weight jacket/shirt.
I love the stitching, I love the flowers...I just love it!!!
BUT, I have put it in my Etsy shop for someone else to appreciate it's loveliness. If you love something set it free!

Clothing donations needed.....

I don't know if this will work but I thought, you never know until you try. So, here goes....

My mom runs a Free Clothing program on Monday mornings (10:00-12:00) at Central Christian Church located downtown at 701 N. Delaware.

We are seeing more people now because of the economy and are in desperate need of men's shoes, sweaters, pants and jeans. I know it is a long shot but thought maybe someone might see this and notice their husband/son has a closet full of stuff they would like to see go!!!

Although the above items are desperately needed we will take any clothing items that are in good shape, women and children's too.

If you want to drop something off:
Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, Sunday, 9am-1pm
We have an evening host 5pm-9:30pm Monday-Friday. After 5pm door #1 will be unlocked and look for Robert Barrow.

Or send me an e-mail and we can work out an arrangement. http://www.indyccc.org/

Thank you for taking your time to read this.....

For the months of February and March...

For the months of February & March we are donating 10% of each sale at both of our Etsy sites to the IACC. We will be keeping track of the total donations at the left of this page.

The Indianapolis Animal Care & Control is changing with it's new director leading the way. He wants to make a more inviting place for people to come to find their perfect pet and a better place for the animals that are there. Please see my blog links to the left side and read more about what Doug Rae is doing for Indy's unwanted animals.

Libby is my baby from the IACC. She is a joy and I can not imagine my life without her. Please check out the IACC to see if you have a place in your heart.
Adopt, volunteer or donate...they need us!! Thank you
